CraneAccidents.com is the Official Web-site for reporting crane related accidents on a world wide basis. The site is loaded with photos of crane accidents.

The site was launched on January 27, 1999 and is International in scope. The site is served by Interland.net servers located in Atlanta, Georgia. It is maintained by Doyle Peeks, Port Charlotte, Florida.

Our primary mission is to maintain a perpetual database for recording accidents (crashes, mishaps, wrecks) in which cranes, (tower cranes, mobile, helicopter cranes, other) hoist, derrick, drill rigs, or personnel lifting equipment, (bucket trucks/lift platforms/scissor lifts) construction elevators, mobile TV units with masts may become involved. In general, any and all equipment or machine, mobile or stationary when used for lifting (hoisting) material or people. Any piece of equipment substituting as a crane, for instance a boom type forklift or an excavator/backhoe when used to lift/hoist a load) is also covered. Hopefully, the information gathered will help reduce hoisting related accidents.
Industries covered: Construction, Maritime, Manufacturing, General (all).

Links to this site are encouraged. Choose a logo for your perusal.

Please keep in mind that all crane related accidents are not reported to this site. It would be great if they were, but that will probably never happen. Hopefully, we will be able to gather enough information to at least get an overall view of what is causing so many crane related accidents. It already appears that the majority are caused by human error, not mechanical failure of equipment.

You may report accidents via e-mail here.

Privacy Policy: Personal names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, or any other personal information of those who submit reports is kept strictly confidential, unless prior approval for use thereof has been granted. We have the same legal rights as the rest of the media and will exercise them to the fullest to protect the privacy of our sources.

Exception to the above: From time to time it may be necessary for us to publish information we receive in order to clarify, make corrections, or to up-date an existing report or other data. Sometimes the material may contain revealing information, such as a job title, position, or other descriptive information.

Under such circumstances we endeavor to keep personal names out of the publication. However, titles, positions, job titles, professions, professional title, or other similar information may be descriptive enough that persons close to or associated with the source may guess who an individual is, simply because of the person's title or position. The best way to maintain total privacy is to be very careful about what you send to us or anyone else. There are many instances where names of individuals are already made public without the person being aware of it, through police reports, accident reports, O.S.H.A. reports, and etc.
